I’m Terri. I run The White Smile Company from a private studio at my home in Woolston, and whitening is the only treatment I offer.
Not one service among many. The whole thing.
A salon that also does lashes and brows. A dental practice where whitening is one line on a long list, fitted in between the work that pays the bills.
There’s nothing wrong with either. But it does mean whitening is rarely anyone’s main event, and it shows in how much time you get and how much thought goes into it.
I’ve spent more than twenty years on this one thing. Over that time I’ve worked with countless products, gels, machines and systems, and I’ve seen how differently one person’s teeth can respond from another’s.
The most useful thing that experience gives me isn’t technique. It’s being able to tell you what’s realistic for your teeth before you’ve paid me a cent.
Sometimes that means telling you the cheaper option probably won’t get you where you want to go. Sometimes it means saying see your dentist first, and come back to me afterwards. Occasionally it means saying that what you’re hoping for isn’t on the cards, and here’s what is.
I’d far rather do that than sell you a treatment and watch you be disappointed.
You come to a dedicated treatment room at my home. There’s no waiting area, no reception desk, and nobody else booked in alongside you.
It means the hour is genuinely yours. We talk first — about your teeth, what’s caused the staining, what you’d like — and then you settle in and I get on with it.
Cold-filtered laser light. The UV is filtered out, which means less heat travelling into the tooth — and heat is one of the main causes of sensitivity during whitening.
Gel formulated to minimise sensitivity. The desensitisers are built into the formula rather than added afterwards as an afterthought.
I’ve tried a great many systems over the years. This is the one I kept. There’s more detail on the laser whitening page, and on how I handle sensitive teeth.
Whatever it is. If something’s uncomfortable, if you’ve changed your mind, if you’d rather stop — tell me, and I’ll do whatever I can to make you more comfortable.
And if you’re nervous, you’re in very good company. Most people are, a bit, the first time. Saying so when you book genuinely changes how I set the appointment up.
Appointments generally Tuesday–Saturday · By appointment only
Need another day? Just ask — I’ll always do my best to accommodate you.
